First Kids director Debbie McCune has a graduate degree in Church Social Work from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Her studies were concentrated in program directing and working with families and children, areas in which she has served for the
past 28 years. Having served in several churches as Minister to Children and Youth, Debbie has been involved with the Fist Kids
ministry for over 17 years. Other professional credits include membership on the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Coalition
for School Age Care and the Jefferson County 4-H Council.
Students of Louisville Classical Academy whose families need after-school care or childcare
on Mondays have the option of arranging such care at the Academy's site with First Kids, an award
winning program at First Christian Church of Louisville. For nearly two decades, First Kids has
served eastern Jefferson County with a daycare, a pre-school, and after-school care for school-aged
children. First Kids is regulated by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and has achieved Level 3 in the
Stars Rating Program.
